Happy April! Letter from the Chapter President - Roger Kitchen Jr.

Happy April everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Spring. Sports, hiking, family get-togethers, gardening, plus lots of sneezing for us allergy sufferers define this time of year. It is amazing to see how quickly nature turns itself around. Drab, dreary winter with little or no color moves quickly into Spring with lots of activity, flowers blooming, and sunny, blue skies.

Your ATD – N. Alabama chapter is making the same, quick and vibrant transformation as we move further into 2015. Since my last letter we have added new Board members, hosted our first luncheon workshop, connected with new Strategic Partners/Sponsors, and scheduled more great Speakers that will benefit our membership greatly this year.

I am pleased to welcome the following new Board Members:

  • Stef Whitlow – Membership Chair
  • Angela Walker – Director at Large
  • Fred Beck – Programs Chair

We are still in need of a Treasurer and a Marketing/Communications Chair. If you are interested, please contact me at 256-698-6389 or rogerkitchen@bellsouth.net

Here are some of our confirmed guest speakers for 2015.

  • June 16 – Joe Stuart, Curriculum and Instructional Design 101 – Is Training Really the Solution to Your Business Problem?
  • October 20 – Roger Kitchen Jr., Emotional Intelligence – Your Leadership Advantage
  • November 10 – Stef Whitlow, The Basics of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – How Knowing Your Type and Your Co-workers’ Type Makes you a Better Team Member

Lastly, I want to thank our Sponsors and Strategic Partners who are supporting ATD – North Alabama. Please visit our website to view their expertise and company information. http://www.atdnal.org/Strategic-Partners-and-Sponsors

  • Ms. Lane Fabby, President & CEO– Fabby Leadership Solutions Inc.
  • Ms. Donna Stone-Reed, President – FlowPoint Consulting Company
  • Dr. Joe Stuart, President - Stuart Training, Education, Evaluation and Development Site (STEEDS)

Thank you for your continued support of our chapter and its activities. Without our members, we would not be successful. Later this month I will send to everyone on our contact list the results of our Annual Membership Chapter Survey. Remember, our mission at ATD – North Alabama is to provide leadership to individuals, organizations, and society to achieve work-related competence, performance, and fulfillment. This complements ATD's worldwide mission to "Create a world that works better".

Making 2015 Great!
